This is always a destination for us when in PT- menu is interesting and delicious and the staff is friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Can't wait to go back- every time.

Copying and pasting my Yelp review about my experience today for this place:The most racist service I have ever experienced in my life. I went in here with my husband and 3 members of my Indian American family. My mom asked for turkey to be added to her sandwich - it arrived with no turkey. After trying unsuccessfully to get the attention of the waiter, I walked up to the bar to let him know about the missing turkey and ask if a new sandwich could be made for my mom or if just some turkey could be sent out. He immediately said one of the dumbest, and most offensive things I have ever heard: instead of taking responsibility for his mistake and trying to fix it, he put the blame on my mom and said "There was a language barrier." I had to tell this bigot that my mother has been speaking - and teaching English - longer than he's been alive, and that any "barrier" was his alone. There was zero language or even accent barrier - he made a mistake and instead of owning up to it decided to blame US for being brown. I hope anyone with a conscience will not go to this restaurant until this idiot is fired. I will be calling to speak to a manager tomorrow to demand this happen.
I'm very sad to report that the way the owner of this restaurant has handled my complain to-date has been abysmal. When I pressed him on what his self-proclaimed "zero tolerance" policy for racism means when he can just deny anyone's experience with racism with no evidence, he hung up on me.Update 3: As of this writing, Mr. Yates is enlisting his friends and colleagues to personally attack me online with additional ad hominem attacks.
I will be discussing your negative feedback of this restaurant with the Indian Association of Western Washington (IAWW). The IAWW organizes a Camp every August in Port Townsend and several families look for places to eat when they are picking their kids up from camp. I am sure many of my friends will be aghast at this BS and will think twice before stepping in for lunch. I hope you receive a satisfactory response from the management.
Thank you for your support. Please view my update above regarding the progress (or lack thereof) to this issue. It has been the opposite of a satisfactory response. I do hope the IAWW will get involved and consider publicly denouncing this restaurant's behavior and also - possibly - Port Townsend for their future events, among any other actions available to them.
